Want to join UNSWCC?
Who can join?
We welcome new players of all backgrounds to UNSWCC.
We will be a particularly good fit for you if you are:
A current or prospective student, alumnus or staff member of UNSW; and/or
An aspiring First Grade and/or professional cricketer; and/or
A player coming through our junior pathway at Randwick JCC
We have a long history of welcoming new players from from regional & rural NSW, including several who have gone on to play for NSW and Australia.
We also have one overseas player spot available in First Grade each year, usually filled by an aspiring England and/or County player in their off-season.
While we are a university club, we are also a community club and it is not a requirement to be a student of UNSW.
How to join
The club fields six teams in the NSW Premier Cricket and Sydney Metropolitan Cup competitions as well as U21s (Poidevin-Gray) and U16 (Green Shield) teams.
We typically keep a list of between 80-100 active players, including emergencies. Our primary intake is via new player trials in pre-season (August) each year.
We can also often accommodate players joining later in the season, for example if you have just started university or just moved to Sydney.
What you need to join
Our main requirements of new players are:
Sufficient skill and commitment to play NSW Premier Cricket and/or Metropolitan Cup, including training 1-3x per week depending on the grade (the higher the grade, the higher the training expectation obviously)
A desire to contribute to the aspirational and sociable culture of the club
Timely payment of fees
