Juniors: Green Shield
Our AW Green Shield Invitational Trial Squad is as listed. This trial will be held at Norm O’Neill Training Facility Penshurst, Thursday 22nd April 6:00-8:30pm.
Trials will be carried out on turf, so players will require both turf and synthetic shoes. All players must also bring a white 4-pc kookaburra cricket ball.

The University of New South Wales Cricket Club are seeking young cricketers for the 2020/21 A.W. Green Shield season. The cricket played is of a very high standard, and are played at some of the best cricketing venues in Sydney. Your opponents will be other graded clubs participating in the Sydney Cricket Association, and the matches are played just before Christmas and after New Year (the exact dates are TBC).
Recent A.W. Green Shield players from the UNSWCC have gone on to play representative cricket at both State and National levels, and at UNSWCC A.W. Green Shield players are encouraged, if available, to also play in the clubs Grade sides (senior) and receive guidance from the senior players within the club.
Current club player Sutha Thanabalasingam, who has been the coach of the UNSWCC A.W.Green Shield squad for a number of years, will continue as coach for the forthcoming 2018/2019 season. Sutha has played for the UNSWCC since 2012, and is a batting all-rounder who bowls left arm wrist spin. He has played for the UNSWCC at the highest level and also captained sides for several seasons.
Other first grade players will also be involved in the coaching and training.
UNSW has a track record of promoting our finest Green Shield players into our Metro Cup and Premier teams. These players get the rare experience of playing with some of the finest cricketers in Sydney and is an excellent path to grow as a UNSW cricketer.
